Memphis Depay has claimed that Manchester United did not want him to play in the final two matches of the Dutch season for PSV Eindhoven.
The 21-year-old agreed a switch to Old Trafford at the beginning of last month, when PSV had two Eredivisie games left to play.
"I really wanted to play and for our coach (Phillip Cocu) it was not a big issue," Depay told De Telegraaf.
"But PSV and Manchester United were not pleased. They both suggested that I sit out because of fear over injuries."
It is thought that the Netherlands international moved to United for a fee in the region of £22m.
