Patrice Evra has revealed that "personal problems" were behind his decision to leave Manchester United for Juventus in the summer.
The French defender departed Old Trafford shortly after signing a one-year contract extension, but he insists that it was his own feelings, and not the arrival of Luke Shaw, which led to his exit.
"I went away from Manchester because of personal problems, and the only team that I wanted was Juventus," Evra told JTV.
"They are a club which have a history and important goals. [Antonio] Conte had called me many times to convince me, now I'm at Juventus and I'm happy.
"Here I can continue with a big club, I saw no differences compared to United."
Evra won five Premier League medals in eight seasons at Old Trafford.
