Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has declared that his side's procession to the Premier League title has justified Robin van Persie's decision to leave Arsenal.
Van Persie returned to his former club for the first time last weekend and scored a penalty to help United draw 1-1 at the Emirates.
After winning his first league championship Evra believes that the Dutch striker's move to Old Trafford has been vindicated by clinching silverware.
He told The Sun: "He showed them that he hasn't made the wrong choice. It was a long time that he didn't win the league. He has come to Manchester United and won the league.
"He did a good job for Arsenal and I was really disappointed for him. I think he felt it as well.
"To take that penalty he showed what a world class, top player he is. He kept his nerves down to score that penalty and I am happy for him."
The 29-year-old has scored 25 league goals in his maiden campaign at Old Trafford to lead the Premier League scoring charts.
