Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that Dimitar Berbatov could leave Manchester United in the summer on a free transfer.
The Bulgarian, who cost United £30.75m when he joined from Tottenham Hotspur in 2008, is out of contract in the summer and talks are yet to begin regarding fresh terms.
Berbatov is believed to be unhappy at a lack of starting opportunities and as a result Ferguson believes that his stint at Old Trafford could be coming to an end.
"His concern is not getting first-team football," Ferguson told a press conference. "At 31, he is looking at first-team football. It is difficult for me to guarantee that so it could lead to him looking elsewhere."
The striker has made ten Premier League appearances this season.
