Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed that Manchester United will have a "good chance" to win the Premier League if they remain in the top two at New Year.
The Red Devils have had a strong start to the campaign, but sustained a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal last time out, which knocked them back to third place in the table.
However, Ferguson believes that the title race is wide open and feels that Louis van Gaal's men only need to stay in touch at the top to have an opportunity to clinch the crown.
"It's that kind of league, anyone can win it now," he told ESPN.
"Leicester are the most consistent - they've only lost one game. If we [Man Utd] get to New Year up near the top, we'll have a good chance."
United last won the Premier League in the 2012-13 season.
