Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher is close to making a return to football following a 22-month battle with a chronic bowel condition.
The former Scotland captain, who has undergone two operations as well as months of intensive treatment, trained with the club's first team this week.
Fletcher is a part of Red Devils manager David Moyes's plans, and has targeted next month as a possible date for his comeback, according to the Daily Star.
The 29-year-old has not played for United since their Boxing Day win over Newcastle United in 2012.
