Fulham will attempt to achieve a goalscoring feat for the first time in 59 years when they welcome Manchester United to Craven Cottage for Sunday's Premier League encounter.

Marco Silva's side will be in a positive mood after they ended a three-game winless league run with a 2-0 win over Leicester City last weekend.

That result moved Fulham onto 33 points for the season, ensuring that they will head into Sunday's fixture in 10th place in the Premier League table.

After enjoying success at the King Power Stadium last time out, Fulham will now return to Craven Cottage where they have drawn each of their previous four top-flight matches.

Fulham out to end 59-year wait in Man United clash

As a result, they will be looking to claim their first home league win since December 5 when they face Ruben Amorim's charges on Sunday evening.

The Cottagers will also be aiming to continue their impressive form in front of goal, having scored two goals or more in each of their last five Premier League matches.

Fulham now have the chance to end a 59-year wait by scoring two or more goals in six consecutive top-flight games for the first time since 1966.

However, Fulham may find it difficult to continue that goalscoring run, having failed to score more than one goal in any of their previous seven home games against Man United (L7).

Fulham's poor recent record against Man United

In fact, Fulham have tended to struggle in home and away meetings with Man United, having won just one of their last 18 Premier League meetings with the Red Devils.

Their only win in that period took place at Old Trafford in February last year when Alex Iwobi scored a 97th-minute winner in a 2-1 victory.

Meanwhile, they have not beaten Man United at Craven Cottage since Danny Murphy, Bobby Zamora and Damien Duff all found the net in a 3-0 victory in December 2009.

If they are to end their wait for a head-to-head home win, Fulham will have to do it without the services of defender Kenny Tete and attacker Reiss Nelson.

Tete has been out since the middle of December with a knee injury, while Nelson remains sidelined with a hamstring injury, although Silva has revealed that the Arsenal loanee is closing in on a return to action. body check tags ::
