Everton midfielder Darron Gibson believes that he never got the chance to prove his worth at Manchester United and insists that he was not a 'failure' at Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old left the Red Devils for the blue half of Merseyside in the January transfer window and the playmaker believes that he made the right choice.
"As a footballer you want to play and when it came down to it, I wasn't playing as much as I would have liked," said Gibson.
"That meant I had to move. Some people say I failed at United and towards the end, I wasn't playing my best. I've come here to start showing people how good a player I am. I wouldn't say I failed at United, I'd say I never got the chance I wanted."
Gibson will come up against his former club when Everton go head to head with the Premier League champions on Sunday.
