Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland has insisted that he cannot be compared with Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.
The former Red Bull Salzburg starlet has enjoyed yet another remarkable season with the Black and Yellow, netting 33 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions and reaching 20 Champions League strikes in the quickest time ever.
Haaland's performances have naturally earned him comparisons with Messi and Ronaldo, who boast 11 Ballons d'Or between them, but the Dortmund man has affirmed that he is a long way from reaching their level.
Speaking to Norwegian outlet Dagbladet, the 20-year-old said: "'I think only of myself, to improve my game every day. I don't need to talk about Messi and Ronaldo, probably the best players in history. I still need a lot to reach them."
Haaland was also quizzed on his future ahead of Norway's upcoming international matches, but he refused to speculate where he might end up next season.
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are all supposedly ready to enter a bidding war for his signature this summer, although a recent report claimed that the latter could instead prioritise a move for Southampton's Danny Ings due to Haaland's £100m valuation. body check tags ::
