Harry Kane aiming to make Tottenham Hotspur history against Manchester United

:Headline: Harry Kane aiming to make Tottenham Hotspur history against Manchester United:
Harry Kane could become the first-ever Tottenham Hotspur player to score in six successive Premier League games when the Lilywhites meet Manchester United on Wednesday.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane will be out to set a new club record when the Lilywhites meet Manchester United at Old Trafford in Wednesday's Premier League contest.

The England captain has enjoyed a stellar start to the campaign for Antonio Conte's side and was on target in Saturday's 2-0 success over Everton.

Kane was felled by England colleague Jordan Pickford in the area before stepping up to smash home the penalty, only a few days after scoring one and missing one against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.

The 29-year-old has now amassed 10 goals and two assists from 14 appearances in all competitions this term, with nine of those strikes coming in 10 Premier League games.

Kane has now netted in five consecutive top-flight appearances, also scoring against Fulham, Leicester City, Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion in recent weeks.

Should the striker find the back of the net at Old Trafford, he would become the first Tottenham player in history to score in six successive Premier League appearances.

Spurs players have previously scored in five successive top-flight games on seven occasions, but Kane is out to become the first to make it six for the North London club on Wednesday.

Furthermore, Kane could also match a feat set by Alan Shearer, as he already has nine Premier League goals to boast from matches played on a Wednesday.

Kane has scored at least 10 goals in the competition on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and a goal at Old Trafford would see him become the second Premier League player to hit double figures on five different days of the week after Shearer.

The 2-0 win over Everton marked Kane's 400th competitive appearance for Tottenham, and the Englishman has amassed 258 goals and 61 assists for the Lilywhites in that time.

Kane will likely form a two-man strike partnership with Son Heung-min for the trip to Old Trafford, as Spurs lost Richarlison to a calf injury 50 minutes into their clash with Everton.

The Brazilian attacker has already been ruled out of this game by Conte, and there are fears that his issue will be serious enough to rule him out of the World Cup after he left the stadium on crutches.

Dejan Kulusevski also remains a doubt with his hamstring injury after suffering a recent setback, and his absence would leave Lucas Moura and Bryan Gil as Conte's options for change in attack.

As a result, the Lilywhites could instead revert to a 3-5-2 formation, with Yves Bissouma joining Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur in the middle of the park.

Tottenham remain third in the Premier League table - level on points with Manchester City - and they could go to within one point of leaders Arsenal with victory over Man United.
