Ander Herrera has revealed that Manchester United legend Paul Scholes serves as an inspiration to him at Old Trafford.
The 25-year-old, who moved to United from Athletic Bilbao last summer, has netted two goals in his last two appearances.
Herrera believes that there is more to come from him and he has set his sights on emulating Scholes, who enjoyed a 19-year playing career with the Red Devils.
"Paul Scholes is maybe the biggest midfielder in United history," Herrera told the Manchester Evening News.
"I want to be Ander Herrera, [but] I want to learn things from Paul Scholes, things from Michael Carrick, things from Wayne Rooney.
"I wish one day, I can be so important to the fans, but I have to work very, very hard for that. But I am 25 years old, I have to learn a lot from my teammates, [and] from great players like Paul Scholes and I want to learn."
Herrera has scored five goals in 18 United appearances to date.
