Manchester United have revealed that forward Jadon Sancho will not train with the first team until a 'squad discipline issue has been resolved'.
Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag said that he left Sancho out of the squad for the Arsenal game before the international break due to the Englishman's poor performances in training.
The 23-year-old hit back at his manager on social media, and the statement remained pinned to the top of his 'X' profile until Tuesday afternoon, when it was deleted.
Sancho and Ten Hag are believed to have met on Monday for 'clear-the-air talks', but a resolution has not been reached at this stage.
Man United have revealed that the former Manchester City youngster will not be involved with the first team at Old Trafford for the moment and will instead "remain on a personal training programme".
"Jadon Sancho will remain on a personal training programme away from the first-team group, pending resolution of a squad discipline issue," read a statement on the club's official website.
Red Devils football director John Murtough and CEO Richard Arnold are believed to be currently attempting to de-escalate the situation.
Sancho spent time away from Man United in the latter stages of last year due to a personal issue, and he is now set to be absent for another period, although it is unclear how long it will last.
Al Ettifaq are believed to have attempted to sign the forward before the end of the Saudi Pro League transfer window last week, but a potential move to Saudi Arabia ultimately fell through.
Sancho has only scored 12 goals and registered six assists in 82 appearances for Man United since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021.
The forward impressed during pre-season, but he was only a substitute in the team's first three matches of the new campaign before being left out altogether against Arsenal.
Man Untied are also currently without Antony, who is remaining in Brazil to deal with allegations of abuse which have been levelled at him from three separate women.
Mason Greenwood, meanwhile, will not play for the club again, with the Englishman currently on loan at Getafe in Spain.
Ten Hag is therefore short of options on the right side of the attack at a key stage of the season, with Amad Diallo currently injured, although Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes can both play in that area of the field, while Facundo Pellistri will also be in the picture to earn minutes in the coming weeks. body check tags ::
