Phil Jones has conceded that Manchester United will have to be at their very best if they are to take maximum points from their trip to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds have won their first two matches of the new Premier League season, with Daniel Sturridge scoring both times in 1-0 victories.
Looking ahead to the fixture, defender Jones has admitted that United will have to keep his England teammate quiet.
"It's going to be a big game for the players and manager but we'll have to go there and be at our best," Jones told the club's official website. "Sturridge is a cracking player and one who we'll work on and watch out for.
"It's never easy going to Anfield. They put you under a lot of pressure. But I'm sure if we find that cutting edge we can get three points."
Jones has deputised at right-back for United in recent weeks following an injury suffered by Rafael da Silva.
