Manchester United reserves manager Warren Joyce has praised Darren Fletcher's attitude in recent weeks.
The midfielder has been training with United's second string for large parts of the summer as he steps up his recovery from a virus that ended his 2010/11 season prematurely.
The Scotland captain played a full 90 minutes as the Red Devils' back-up players lost to Arsenal 2-1 at Underhill yesterday.
"It's great to see Fletch coming through as he works hard and he is a tremendous professional. It's good to see him come through the 90 minutes unscathed," Joyce told the club's official website.
"It's up to the manager and how he recovers from this but hopefully, touch wood, he'll be feeling in good nick and can take part in training later this week."
The 27-year-old has spent his entire career at Old Trafford.
