Manchester United attacker Juan Mata is reportedly on the verge of signing a new deal at Old Trafford.
Mata has been with United since January 2014, scoring 44 times and registering 36 assists in 213 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.
The 30-year-old's current contract will expire this summer, however, and it had been suggested that the Spaniard would leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.
According to The Sun, though, Mata is now on the verge of penning a new contract which will run until the end of next season, with the option of a further year until the summer of 2021.
Mata has scored five times and contributed three assists in 27 appearances for United this season.
The attacker started Sunday's Premier League clash with Liverpool, but picked up a groin strain in the first half of the goalless draw and will now miss Wednesday's trip to Crystal Palace.
