Manchester United youngster Michael Keane has expressed his desire to emulate the success of Rio Ferdinand at the club.
The veteran defender will leave the Red Devils when his contract expires at the end of June, and Keane is hopeful that he will be the one to fill his idol's boots.
Keane told the Daily Star: "I hope to take Rio's shirt. That's the dream for me. When I was young I always had Rio on the back of my shirt.
"He was my idol when he first joined United and he still is. Luckily, I've managed to train with him for a few years.
"It's sad to see him go. He was a great person to have around in the changing room and he was great with the young lads. He speaks to everyone and always gives you advice."
The 21-year-old had loan spells with Championship clubs Derby County and Blackburn Rovers last season.
