Martin Keown has said that Bastian Schweinsteiger could turn out to be a great signing for Manchester United.
The 31-year-old was signed for just £6.5m from Bayern Munich in the summer and is slowly getting to grips with life in the Premier League.
Former Arsenal defender Keown believes that the German will eventually prove his worth at Old Trafford.
"I think Bastian Schweinsteiger was magnificent for Germany against Scotland and could have a big impact," Keown is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
"He is already a top player and could turn out to be a fantastic signing for United.
"He has a real hallmark of quality about him and can run games from midfield. He may not be a long-term solution but he could be a top signing."
United host Liverpool today at 5.30pm.
