Jurgen Klopp 'frustrated' by Manchester United defeat

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits that his side's home defeat to arch-rivals Manchester United is "frustrating".

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed that his side did not deserve to lose against Manchester United at Anfield this afternoon.

The Reds were on top for long spells of the match and enjoyed more possession, chances and shots than their bitter rivals, only to fall to a late Wayne Rooney goal from United's only attempt on target.

The goal stemmed from a set piece, and Klopp acknowledged that his side must improve defensively in those situations having conceded more goals from corners than any other side in the Premier League this season.

"I didn't see too many chances for Manchester United and we didn't take ours. Of course it is frustrating. We lost a game that we should not have lost," he told BBC Sport.

"The goal was to defend and we didn't do it. That is our responsibility. We have to defend set pieces better. We did really well creating the chances, but there were a lot of situation where we could have created more chances and didn't.

"There were a lot of things but we lost in a derby against Manchester United so I can't be very positive at this moment so soon after the game."

The defeat means that Liverpool remain ninth in the table following a run of only two wins in their last eight league games.
