Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak has revealed that Leeds United failed in a bid to bring him to Elland Road because Sir Alex Ferguson blocked the move.
Kuszczak, who has made ten appearances at international level for Poland, said that Fergie would only allow him to join Doncaster Rovers or Sheffield United.
"My loan to Leeds was not possible because Alex Ferguson has blocked it," he told Onet.
"I could only go to Sheffield United, or to Doncaster."
Leeds had been looking for a new keeper as replacement Paul Rachubka has been underperforming in place of the injured Andy Lonergen.
They signed Reading's Alex McCarthy on a month's loan yesterday, the England Under-21 international will go straight into the squad for Sunday's trip to Leicester.
