Jesse Lingard has revealed that he learned something from former Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney every day.
United's all-time goal scorer returns to Old Trafford this weekend after moving back to Everton on a free transfer in the summer.
The former England captain, who has since gone to retire from international football, has become a key player for the Toffees since his switch back to Merseyside.
Speaking to reporters, Lingard said: "You learn every day from him. His experience in games, especially when you're young. If it's only 1-0 it's always hard to manage a game, and he knew what to do at times, especially towards the end of games.
Lingard also said that the 31-year-old would receive a warm reception when he plays at his former stomping ground on Sunday.
"Of course it is hard to follow him, he's always going to be recognised as a legend at the club and he'll get a great reception when he comes back," he said.
United will go into the weekend's game off the back of their 3-0 Champions League win over Basel.
