Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has admitted that his side were again "not good enough" in Saturday's Premier League clash with West Ham United.

The Red Devils entered the match at the London Stadium off the back of a goalless draw with Liverpool and would have been looking to build on what was a welcome point at Anfield.

However, second-half goals from Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus secured all three points for the Hammers, who have moved into sixth position in the Premier League table.

Shaw could not hide his frustration at full-time, with the left-back admitting that his side must improve following their 13th defeat of the campaign.

"[It was] just not good enough really. We have to win games. We keep losing games, losing points and we're making it very hard for ourselves," Shaw told TNT Sports.

"Especially that second half, not good enough. First half I think we controlled the game. If we score the first goal then maybe the result's different but we don't so we suffered in the second half and it's not good enough.

"The pass was an unbelievable pass. It got a bit of luck with the rebound and that's that. The second goal is a mistake but that doesn't matter.

"From the start of the second half, we were not the same as the first half and it showed. That's why I'm here now and we've lost three points again.

"It's tough to think what's going on. I think maybe we're just not creating enough and when we do on the other hand we're not clinical. Maybe it could be a lack of confidence at the moment, sometimes that's normal in football, it happens.

"Like I said, we have to try and keep staying positive. We've got another big game coming up against Aston Villa so we can't feel sorry for ourselves, we have to pick ourselves up and go again. It's a home game and we can't keep dropping points, we have to win games.

"Yeah, it is [hard to stay positive], but it's our job. We have to stay positive. This is Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the world, and like I said before it's not good enough.

"We know that and we have to dig deep, look ourselves in the mirror and question ourselves and go from there."

Man United boss Erik ten Hag, meanwhile, said that his side were made to pay for missed opportunities during the Premier League affair in the capital. body check tags ::
