Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim has reportedly emerged as a potential managerial target for Manchester United.
Old Trafford officials are currently in the process of appointing a successor to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with Ralf Rangnick seemingly in line to take the job on an interim basis.
However, with the 63-year-old potentially moving to a behind-the-scenes role next summer, United are already considering long-term alternatives to the German.
While Mauricio Pochettino is the clear favourite, The Telegraph says that Sporting boss Amorim is also highly regarded at the Premier League giants.
As well as guiding Sporting to a surprise Primeira Liga title last season, the 36-year-old has also taken the Portuguese club through to the last 16 of this year's Champions League.
In total, Amorim has recorded 54 wins and just seven defeats from 73 matches in charge, leaving United to contemplate whether they would be prepared to pay his expensive release clause in 2022. body check tags ::
