Manchester United have reportedly suspended their search for a new director of football.
The Red Devils were supposedly looking to appoint a director to assist with the club's transfer strategy, with former defender Rio Ferdinand rumoured to be in contention for the role.
However, according to The Athletic, United are confident in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's ability to attract the biggest names to Old Trafford, and as a result the club have postponed their search for a director of football.
United have been linked with a number of high-profile players throughout the past few months, including Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish, although it remains to be seen how the summer transfer window will pan out amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Solskjaer's side currently lie fifth in the Premier League table during the enforced postponement.
