Roberto Mancini: ‘Draw would have been fair result’

Roberto Mancini concedes that Man Utd outplayed City but claims a 2-2 draw would have been the fairest result.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini claims a draw would have been a fair result in the Community Shield after they lost 3-2 to Manchester United.

City squandered a 2-0 half-time lead to lose 3-2, with United winger Nani scoring the winner deep into injury time.

"Maybe they played better than us, but the right result after 90 minutes would probably have been 2-2," said the Italian.

The Blues begin the new season next Monday at home to newly-promoted Swansea City.
