Former Manchester United defender Gordon McQueen has said that Ryan Giggs should remain at Old Trafford and learn from Jose Mourinho if the Portuguese arrives at the club this summer.
Speculation linking Mourinho with the hotseat has grown in recent weeks, with Louis van Gaal expected to be shown the door at the end of the season, one year before his contract ends.
It is widely thought that Giggs would also depart his role as assistant manager if Mourinho arrived, but McQueen has insisted that the pair would complement each other.
"Giggs is so popular with the fans it will work in Mourinho's favour to keep him on and get fans on his side. I don't think [Giggs] will go to another managerial job, he could learn from Mourinho," McQueen told Sky Sports News.
Van Gaal's Man United are currently six points off the top four in the Premier League table ahead of their trip to Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.
