Jose Mourinho: 'Premier League title race not over yet'

Jose Mourinho is adamant that the Premier League title race is not yet over and suggests that he would be on holiday had Manchester United thrown in the towel.

Jose Mourinho has claimed that the Premier League title race is not yet over and stresses that he would be on holiday right now had Manchester United already thrown in the towel.

The Red Devils bounced back from their 2-1 defeat to Manchester City at the weekend with a 1-0 win over Bournemouth on Wednesday night, courtesy of Romelu Lukaku's first-half goal.

However, the Citizens set a new Premier League record of 15 successive wins with a 4-0 thrashing of Swansea City on the same evening and retain their 11-point lead at the top of the table.

"I am pleased with the three points, it was difficult match," Mourinho told BBC Sport. "They had one more day's rest than us, they were fresher than us, and mentally fresher because a big match takes more from our players.

"We had chances, [Anthony] Martial missed a good chance, [Marcus] Rashford could have had an astonishing effort, and in the last 15 they pushed us.

"I said we play match after match and the next we have to try to win, we try match after match. It is only over in May, if it is over now I go on holiday to Brazil or Los Angeles."

Up next for United is a Premier League trip to West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.
