Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho insists that he will always be determined to succeed, despite now being in his 18th year as a manager.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has told his critics that they are going to have to put up with him "for many more years" to come.

The Portuguese, who turned 55 in January, is now into his 18th year as a senior manager, stretching back to his first job at Benfica in 2000.

Speaking ahead of United's FA Cup final clash with former club Chelsea on Saturday evening, Mourinho insists that he is still as determined as ever to succeed at the top of the game.

"It's my nature," he told BBC Sport. "I think if I was not a successful manager I'd be a successful something. A successful PE teacher, a successful... I don't know. I'd always be a person with drive with this nature.

"Probably the colour of my hair doesn't tell the truth. Maybe people think I am much older than I am. Maybe because I arrived in high level football very, very young maybe people think I am 66. I am not 66, I am 55.

"Even for the ones that don't like me so much, they are going to have me for many more years."

Mourinho has won the FA Cup on one previous occasion, going all the way with Chelsea in 2007.
