Manchester United manager David Moyes has refused to provide an update on the fitness of striker Robin van Persie.
Van Persie has missed United's last four fixtures, and ahead of the club's fixture with Newcastle United, Moyes has decided to remain silent about the Dutch international.
The 50-year-old told reporters: "We've got a few injuries like any other club in the Premier League. Some are making progress, and some have a chance to play on Saturday and some don't."
When pressed on news regarding Van Persie, the Scot responded: "You can ask, but it doesn't mean that I will give you an answer."
United will also be without Wayne Rooney for the visit of the Magpies after the forward picked up his fifth yellow card of the campaign during his side's 1-0 defeat to Everton on Wednesday.
