David Moyes hails the "great character" of his United team to recover from two goals down to beat Hull City 3-2.

David Moyes has hailed the character of his Manchester United team after the Premier League champions recovered from a two-goal deficit to beat Hull City 3-2 today.

The teams played out an entertaining first half at the KC Stadium, with Chris Smalling and Wayne Rooney cancelling out earlier efforts from James Chester and David Meyler respectively.

However, Chester went from hero to villain by hitting an own goal which led to Moyes's men completing the comeback, and the Scot was full of praise for the spirit shown by his troops.

He told Sky Sports News: "We didn't start well, but all credit to the players for getting themselves back.

"We played well enough after that to score goals, and create goals. It was a bit harem scarem in the last five minutes but I'd have taken that after being 2-0 down at the start of the game.

"I think it's what Manchester United are capable of, they have been over the years. The boys showed great character to come back."

United, who climbed to seventh in the Premier League table, eight points adrift of leaders Arsenal, face Norwich City at Carrow Road on Sunday.
