Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that Edinson Cavani is back in England but currently in isolation, meaning that he will not be involved against Leeds United on Saturday.
The Uruguay international has not turned out for the Red Devils during pre-season, as he was given extra holiday following his participation in the Copa America.
Solskjaer has said that Cavani is "finishing off his isolation period", suggesting that he could be available against Southampton on August 22, while Eric Bailly and Amad Diallo are in a similar situation following their involvement in the Tokyo Olympics for Ivory Coast.
"Edi is in the country. [But] he's just finishing off his isolation period. He's had a little bit of extra time for personal reasons," Solskjaer told MUTV.
"Eric and Amad are also in the country waiting to get the all-clear to join the team again. They've had a very exciting summer of course, been in the Olympics [and] played games before that as well, so they should be fit before they come."
Cavani, who agreed a new 12-month contract extension earlier this year, scored 17 times in 39 appearances for the 20-time English champions during the 2020-21 campaign. body check tags ::
