Andreas Pereira has confirmed that he has still not been offered a new contract by Manchester United, but has been told by Louis van Gaal to remain calm.
The 18-year-old, who made his debut in United's 4-0 Capital One Cup defeat at MK Dons in August, moved to Old Trafford from PSV Eindhoven two years ago.
"They haven't contacted me yet, but Van Gaal told me to stay calm," Pereira told Lancenet.
"He wants to give me a chance because I have plenty of talent. When he arrived at the club, I talked with him. He always does so."
The midfielder was also full of praise for Manchester United's senior players, including fellow Brazilian Anderson.
"They are very humble, normal people. They talk with me, give me advice, they help a lot," he said.
"They tell me what is better to do and not do. Anderson talks with me a lot and Darren Fletcher also helps."
Despite being born in Belgium and representing them at junior level, Pereira made his debut for Brazil's Under-20 side this year.
