Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has said that forward Marcus Rashford is not happy with his recent performances.
The 24-year-old has so far struggled to replicate his form of recent seasons in this campaign, having found the net just four times in 16 Premier League appearances up to this point.
The England forward was part of his country's progression to the final of the 2020 European Championships last summer, before undergoing surgery on a persistent shoulder injury ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.
However, speaking to reporters ahead of United's game with Watford on Saturday, Rangnick dismissed suggestions that the surgery has had any impact on Rashford's struggles this season, although he did admit that the forward was disappointed in his own displays.
"He is definitely not injured," said Rangnick.
"We have spoken a lot about Marcus in the last couple of weeks. I am pretty sure he is not happy with his performance right now but it doesn't help if we discuss that every week and talk about our thoughts about what it might be."
Rashford's most recent outing was United's 1-1 with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, in which he was replaced by Anthony Elanga in the 75th minute, who went on to score the equaliser for the Red Devils just five minutes later. body check tags ::
