Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick has said that Marcus Rashford needs to transfer his training-ground performances into matches in order to regain a spot in the starting side.

The England international has struggled to make his mark for the Red Devils this season, managing just five goals and two assists in 24 appearances in all competitions.

Rashford was left out of the starting XI against Manchester City last weekend, meanwhile, despite Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood all being unavailable.

There has been a host of speculation surrounding the attacker's future over the last week, but Rangnick is still confident that he can return to his best form at Old Trafford.

"To play in the same level he trains. Marcus is training well, he's got abundant talent, everything you need for a striker, it's about transforming the training sessions into the games," Rangnick told reporters.

The 24-year-old is believed to be attracting interest from Arsenal, West Ham United, Newcastle United, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain amid suggestions that he could be on the move this summer.
