Harry Redknapp and Sir Alex Ferguson share their views on this afternoon's sacking of Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas.

Harry Redknapp and Sir Alex Ferguson have given their views on this afternoon's sacking of Andre Villas-Boas.

The pair were speaking ahead of this afternoon's Premier League clash at White Hart Lane.

Spurs boss Redknapp told Sky Sports News: "Yeah, I'm obviously disappointed for him. He did great in Portugal last year and it just hasn't worked for him but that's football.

"He's been under unbelievable pressure and you lose a few games in this business and you're in trouble. It's just amazing really but I wish him well on whatever he does in the future."

Ferguson, who has been with Manchester United for 25 years, also spoke of Villas-Boas's pedigree and wished him well for the future.

"I suppose it isn't surprising really, with all the build up in the media and obviously all the results haven't been kind to him," the 70-year-old said.

"It's disappointing because he's a young manager and when you're young you need time but obviously in this industry you don't get a lot of time.

"So it's sad in a way and I hope he does well. He's got the potential and his work at Porto can't be ignored and I hope that he comes back soon."
