Manchester City will reportedly offer Belgian prospect Adnan Januzaj a £45,000-a-week five-year contract in a bid to persuade him to join them from Manchester United.
The 18-year-old winger has yet to make a competitive first-team start for the Red Devils, but is very highly thought of at Old Trafford and has made two substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.
Januzaj is currently in discussions with United over an improvement to his present deal that expires in the summer of 2015, but City are monitoring what they believe to be an impasse in the negotiations.
According to The Metro, City manager Manuel Pellegrini has given the go-ahead for a January move, and the Citizens would be willing to triple the salary that Januzaj is currently on with the English champions.
United boss David Moyes said on Friday that Januzaj is keen to stay with the club, but admitted that they may be in a battle to keep him due to "external influences".
