Manchester City have reportedly taken over Real Madrid and Barcelona as the highest-paid sports team in the world.
City now pay out an average of £5.2m to each first-team player every year, with the weekly wage said to be in excess of £100,000 per week at the club, according to a survey conducted by Sporting Intelligence.
The report claims that Manchester United pay out an average of £3.9m per player, which places the Red Devils at number 12 in the list.
Meanwhile, Chelsea dropped from fourth in last year's poll to eighth this time round, with the average player at Stamford Bridge earning around £78,000 per week.
Of the teams in the top 12, only four were not football clubs, as the baseball trio of the LA Dodgers, New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies took their place alongside basketball outfit the LA Lakers.
