Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has wished Angel di Maria well at Manchester United.
The Argentina winger became the most expensive signing in British football history when he arrived from Madrid for £59.7m earlier this week, and Ronaldo thinks that his former teammate has joined one of the giants of world football.
He told Sky Sports News: "Manchester United are one of the best clubs in the world, it will be good for [Di Maria] and I wish him all the best."
The Portuguese forward also outlined his side's ambitions to become the first team to retain the Champions League.
"We're going to try to win the Champions League again," he added. "We know it is hard, but Real Madrid are always thinking big, thinking huge, so we'll try to win it again."
Los Blancos have been drawn alongside Liverpool, Ludogorets and FC Basel in Group B.
