Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney believes that Juan Mata is an "exciting" acquisition for the North-West outfit.
The Spain international made the switch from Chelsea during the January transfer window for a reported club-record fee of around £37m.
"You see he's intelligent as a football player," Rooney told the BBC's Football Focus show. "He's comfortable on the ball and he can score and create goals for us.
"It's really exciting for myself and the rest of the team to have him come in and hopefully we can all work well and play well together."
Since Mata's arrival, United have secured a 2-0 victory over Cardiff City and suffered defeat at the hands of Stoke City in the Premier League.
