Manchester United's Wayne Rooney has said that he wants to finish his career under Sir Alex Ferguson.
The pair's relationship has come under intense scrutiny since Rooney was dropped and fined for a Boxing Day night out.
It was even suggested that a rift may even lead to the England international being sold in the summer. However, the striker has quelled the speculation by admitting that he wants to play for Ferguson for the rest of his life.
"Sir Alex is the greatest manager of all time," Rooney told The Sun.
"Of course I would like to play under him for the rest of my career.
"As I said before he is, in my eyes, the best ever. His success and his trophies speak for themselves. He's an incredible manager and has done so much for football and so much for my game as well."
Rooney has been voted in the Fifpro World XI along with United teammate Nemanja Vidic.
