Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has revealed that he has spent extra time on the training pitch with Adnan Januzaj in recent months.
Nineteen-year-old Januzaj has broken into the United senior side this season and has impressed during his 28 appearances in all competitions.
Discussing the role that he has played in the youngster's development, Rooney has insisted that he is happy to act as a role model because he has also benefited from the experience.
"I've stayed out after training with Adnan a few times. Even just working on free kicks and crossing. It actually benefits me as well and it benefits him," the England international told Inside United.
"I am trying to help him get better and better, which I feel he is doing, and I think young players need to practice all the time, especially coming into the side. Senior players also need to keep practicing to stay on top of their game so it works for both of us."
Januzaj has scored three Premier League goals this term.
