Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will under further medical examination on Sunday to ascertain the extent of his ankle injury.
The 27-year-old picked up the injury during his side's 3-2 away victory over Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday, and was substituted in the 79th minute.
"Rooney got an ankle knock and he's got some ice on it," manager Sir Alex Ferguson told Sky Sports News. "We'll see what it's like tomorrow."
United are currently at the top of the Premier League table with 27 points from 11 matches.
