Rui Faria: 'Manchester United did enough to earn victory'

Rui Faria insists that Manchester United 'played well and deserved to win' against West Ham United, as they were made to pay for a failure to convert their chances.

Manchester United assistant manager Rui Faria has claimed that his side played well enough to pick up all three points against West Ham United.

The Red Devils battled back from an early deficit to go into the break all square, setting up an entertaining finale to the game as both teams came close to winning the contest.

Despite testing Darren Randolph with a number of shots, however, it was not to be in the end for the hosts as they were held for the fourth league game in succession at Old Trafford.

"We are playing well and we deserved to win but we didn't," Faria, who stepped in for Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese was sent to the stands, told Sky Sports News. "We deserve much more than we got.

"We dominate, we create chances to win the matches comfortably. The team is playing very well but some things didn't happen. One day it will have to happen for us. We'll start winning."

United last drew four home games on the bounce in 1980, with this latest setback leaving them 11 points off the pace in the Premier League.
