Manchester United have offered defender Chris Smalling a contract extension, according to reports.
The 26-year-old is currently out with a broken toe, with Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho appearing to question his willingness to play through the pain during their 3-1 win at Swansea City prior to the international break.
According to the Sun on Sunday, however, the Portuguese coach is nonetheless keen to retain Smalling's services at Old Trafford and is set to offer the England international an extension to his current deal.
Smalling, contracted to United until 2019, joined the North-West club from Fulham in 2010 and has made 142 appearances.
