Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will reportedly hold talks with Mason Greenwood over the striker's recent troubles off the field.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly set to hold talks with Mason Greenwood over the teenager's off-the-field problems over the past couple of weeks.

Greenwood and fellow England protege Phil Foden were both sent home from Gareth Southgate's squad last week after breaching COVID-19 guidelines by inviting two Icelandic women into their hotel.

Now, Greenwood has landed himself in more hot water after a video emerged of the 18-year-old inhaling nitrous oxide from a balloon a while back.

The striker released a statement apologising for his actions on Sunday, and the Daily Mail now reports that Solskjaer will speak with the youngster in order to try and keep him out of trouble in the future.

Greenwood burst onto the scene in the 2019-20 campaign and amassed 17 goals and five assists in all competitions for the Red Devils, but the striker has been training away from the rest of the squad while awaiting the results of a coronavirus test.

United will kick off their 2020-21 Premier League campaign next Saturday when they welcome Crystal Palace to Old Trafford, and it remains to be seen whether or not Greenwood will be available for the clash.
