Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly told Luke Shaw that Brandon Williams is now Manchester United's first-choice left-back.
Shaw, who joined United in 2014, has been sidelined since August with a thigh problem, adding to a long list of injuries suffered since moving to Old Trafford.
In his place, Williams has produced a series of impressive performances on the left-hand side, scoring his first senior goal during Sunday's 3-3 draw with Sheffield United.
According to The Mirror, Solskjaer has informed Shaw that Williams is now ahead of him in the pecking order.
Shaw has been included in a highly youthful squad, comprising 14 teenagers, for United's trip to face Astana in the Europa League.
It is claimed that the impressive performances of Williams have convinced Solskjaer that the club no longer requires a new left-back.
