Former Liverpool boss Graeme Souness has said that it 'would be a tragedy' if Anthony Martial did not become one of the best players in world football.
Martial scored 17 times in his first season for Manchester United following a 2015 move from Monaco but has found it difficult to make his mark over the last couple of years.
The Frenchman scored a brace in United's 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Saturday afternoon, however, and Souness has said that the attacker "could reach the very top" if he fully utilises his talent.
"You've got to keep impressing the manager, at 22 you're looking to improve all the time, and it'd be a tragedy for that boy if he doesn't achieve what God has given him, and he could reach the very top," Souness told Sky Sports News.
United are said to be locked in contract talks with Martial, whose current deal will expire at the end of this season.
