Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Marcel Sabitzer will be in the squad for Saturday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

The Austria international completed a loan move to Old Trafford from Bayern Munich on transfer deadline day.

Sabitzer was in the stands for his new side's 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final on Wednesday night.

Ten Hag, speaking during Friday's pre-match press conference, has now revealed that the midfielder is in line to make his debut in the league contest with Patrick Vieira's side.

"(He is) very good. Of course, he did only one session but you can see he's a very fit player and I didn't have diff expectations coming from Bayern Munich, German, their fitness is always good. I think he is ready to play," said the Man United boss as he confirmed the new signing's involvement.

"I think he's a really smart player and I think we gave him some guidance but he knows what to do, he knows the job."

The 28-year-old has made 24 appearances for Bayern during the 2022-23 campaign, including 15 outings in the Bundesliga, with his last appearance coming in the 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt on January 28.

Man United are preparing to face Palace for the second time in quick succession, having drawn 1-1 with the Eagles at Selhurst Park in the league on January 18.

"We have always to focus on the game, no matter what, it is our job. That is why we are here, we have a lot to do against them, two weeks ago, we had a bad performance there," added Ten Hag.

"I wasn't happy with the performance from us, it was 90% focus and energy and we dropped two points. Tomorrow we need a better game, better focus in the game, better conduct in the way of play because we have to beat them because that's quite clear.

"It's always difficult to say before but we know a lot from them, they know a lot about us, we were really unhappy with our game at Crystal Palace so I demand a much better performance than in London, so we have a good chance to win."

Man United were last in league action against Arsenal on January 22, suffering a 3-2 defeat to the Gunners, with Eddie Nketiah netting the winner late on.

However, Ten Hag's side, who are fourth in the table, have won three times since then, progressing to the final of the EFL Cup and fifth round of the FA Cup in the process. body check tags ::
