UEFA have hit Manchester United winger Nani with a one-match ban following his dismissal in the North-West club's exit from the Champions League.
The European governing body have also handed manager Sir Alex Ferguson a £8,500 fine following his refusal to speak to the media following his side's controversial defeat to Real Madrid.
The Portugal international was handed his marching orders by referee Cuneyt Cakir for a high challenge on Alvaro Arbeloa at the dismay of Ferguson, who later refused to speak to the media as he was too "distraught".
UEFA is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "Manchester United head coach Sir Alex Ferguson has been fined €10,000 (£8,500) for non-fulfilment of the post-match media obligations.
"Nani has been suspended for one match by UEFA's Control & Disciplinary Body following the red card he received vs. Real Madrid."
Former United star Cristiano Ronaldo netted the winning goal for the Spanish giants at Old Trafford earlier this month.
