Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Antonio Valencia will miss his side's match against West Ham United with a a hip injury.
Valencia was forced out of yesterday's comeback win over Queens Park Rangers with the problem after playing through the pain barrier in recent weeks.
Ferguson revealed that the injury is not serious and he expects to have Valencia available within a week.
He told the club's official website: "He had a hip injury, just towards his back.
"He's had a bit of pain there for the last couple of weeks but he's been playing with it. That's the type of guy he is. He never mentioned it and plays on.
"All of a sudden, you ask him and he says: 'Yes, it's sore.' It won't be too long and he should be ready for maybe next week."
United moved top of the Premier League for at least 24 hours with a 3-1 win over the Hoops despite trailing early in the second half.
