Louis van Gaal has insisted that he is "proud" of his players after they secured a goalless draw against Manchester City in the Premier League.
Manchester United were away in the Champions League on Wednesday, not travelling back from their game against CSKA Moscow until Thursday, while City had a home match midweek.
The Dutchman told BBC Match of the Day: "I am proud of my players. They have been concentrating and focused for 90 minutes.
"We didn't create much but City adapted their lineup to our lineup. It was tough. We had a long journey back from Moscow so I am very pleased."
The result keeps United fourth in the Premier League, two points behind their local rivals, who sit at the top of the standings.
